Order of the Arrow Trail Crew (OATC) participants build trails on Wednesday, June 12 at Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron, N.M. OATC is a two-week trek in which participants spend one week helping to build and restore trails and the other week hiking.

Philmont Weeks One and Two

This summer I'm working at Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron, New Mexico as a photographer. This basically means I'm getting paid to play in one of the most beautiful places ever for the summer. Here are some of my favorite frames from my first couple weeks of work!

Philmont Staff dance in a dust storm on Wednesday, May 29 in Base Camp. The harsh drought and Philmont's efforts to conserve water have resulted in less grass and more dust. 

Philmont Wrangler James Miazza guides a  horse to be branded on Thursday, May 30 at Ranch Headquarters at Philmont Scout Ranch. The Ranch has 30-40 new horses this year, all of which needed to be branded.

This week I got to tag along with a couple of my friends while they did some mountain biking. I've been getting really interested in the work that Red Bull Media House does with all their biking and snowboarding and adventurey stuff, so I've been wanting to try shooting something like this. It was loads of fun and I think I might get to go shoot again next week--fingers crossed! Here's some of the stuff I got. :)

It's been a while since I've posted anything, but that's just because I've been busy shooting of course! :) Here are some shots from the past few weeks that I like. One of my favorite things I got to shoot was a track meet. Unfortunately, it's probably the only one I'll get to shoot this year but it was a lot of fun!
